Default water in the distributor?

ok, i have this problem a lot when i hit some local water holes, how do i stop this from happening? i read about siliconing it up but where would i do that at on it?

take off the two screws holding it on, and run a bead of silicone on the mating surface, wait 30s, then screw it back on. i popped the plastic breather cap off of mine and used some rubber hose and ran it up to the firewall topped with a fuel filter for maximum waterproof-ness.

I used to do that when I lived in the land of the temperate rain forest. Over time it would develop condensation inside the cap. A better trick is to use a rubber glove, or surgeons glove and let the spark plug wires come out the fingers

thats a nifty idea also. i havent had a problem in the ~2 years its been like that though.
