Water in the battery.
Anyone ever heard of putting water in a dehydrated battery. My car wouldn't start and I readjusted the battery connectors, put water in the
battery and charged it for about 30 minutes. I've started it several times and it seems fine. Would it cause damage to the starter or alternator having a battery that doesn't hold a consistent charge?

Distilled water is correct. Long cranking time will eventually lead to starter wear, as for your alternator question, I'd be curious to know the answer to that as well.

if your battery is low on eergy then the alternator is given way more work and that is bad. Ive heard of people ruining their alternators and snapping sensors in there
