Default washer and u-pin in brake shoe hardware kit

Where do these go?

http://sdrv.ms/15PzBad

I just did a brake shoe job and I used a slew of pictures and write-ups from various places (including caged's writeup) and nobody made reference to where they went.

I was just wondering if I can run without them or not. It appears others do so I guess that's yes?

those u-clips are to hold the parking lever on the pin against the trailing brake shoe on the dana 44 axle.

ok so i put it up at the top part of the shoe where I hooked it through? I guess I put the circular shaped side toward the drum? Hope I can get it in there without taking everything apart.

What about the circular washer? It was too small to be the washer for the star wheel adjuster.

ok so I tried to use the u-clip around the metal on the parking brake lever but it was too wide to grab anything.

Should I deform the u-clip or should I just leave it off? With all springs installed the parking brake lever is firmly seated in there so I hope its ok.

X2

Don't leave it off-For sure it will work it's way loose with the heat. It's a poor design (overly complicated compared to other drum brake setups). Self adjusters rarely work as intended.

Thank's for posting this, I was worried I was missing something because of those parts.
