washed engine bay... now trans issue???
Heres the run down guys its a 1990 Cherokee 4.0, i washed the engine bay today with the spray nozzle at the wash (not some crazy pressure washer) and some degreaser. I made sure to keep clear of the distributor and the plug wires. So i fired her up to head out and shes doing fine, when i pull out on the road it goes fine until third gear where it dosn't want to shift. So i wasted a ton of gas on the way home and revin to the moon. Any ideas im kinda stumped, is there a shift solenoid? sensor? any help would be great.

That's what happened to me when I got my first Jeep. It's the throttle position sensor. It controls the shifting on the renix system jeeps.

Is this something that will dry out eventually? Ive let it sit for over 6 hours and still same issue, now its holding the shift to the end of each gear.
