Default warning about napa ujoints

Federal mogul or however its spelled part number 280 ....they work fine for all the joints except the Chrysler 8.25 yoke....they are slightly smaller than the original Spicer 1310 causing play between the cap keepers on the yoke....it ate up my pinion bearing after a while

Bummer..So it could be off center and..was it vibrating? I knew the front axle joints are different on my 90. Napa (as well) gave me the drive-line one with the clip outside. (theyr' INside for the axle.) I live remote and had taken it apart.....Luckly it was Honda weather...got the correct one with the bike.

I still recommend Napa. Mistakes happen.

Wasn't a mistake a 280 is a equivalent u joint....didn't cause a noticeable vibe however I fixed with an old Spicer joint still had a vibe...vibe ended up beingthe plunger part of the shaft had no grease because guy that balanced it squeezed it all out....after grease n getting rid of the 280 vibes r gone....explains y I had to swap rear ends cause pinion bearing....will update about a Dana 30 yoke when I pick up a shaft for front

Not napas fault at all....the company that makes em is to blame....just a heads up steer clear there was noticable side to side play keeper to keeper

I thought he was sayin the length between the clips on his yoke was more than the 3-1/8 or whatever it is we have.

Do not have a caliper but Spicer joint fit perfect. Just enoughslope to fit 5 hairs side by side....enough to make a noise when grabbing and shaking side to side(that's how I found it) only a week old still new

I replaced mine with the ones from Napa 3 or 4 years ago and I haven't had a problem with them

All I know is that I ran em for about 2 years n my pinion got junked ...put 4.5 lift on installed hack n tap had vibe went looking n found the fm280s had slop between keepers...looked at original driveshaft(same shaft that junked my d35 had fm280s) it also had slop, took old Spicer joint n it fit tight. So 3 year old 280 and one week old 280 had same slop...so if ur running those or n e other brand its definitely worth a look....report back with findings. Just trying to save people a big headache

so because your u-joint wore out, 2 years after installing it and you kept driving it until you toasted the pinion bearing, you're blaming the joint?

Just for you information I have checked them last week I have been working on vehicles for over 40 years and I don't wait for something to break or start making noises before I check out my vehicles.
