I want to put the Rubicon Express Super-Ride 3.5 inch lift on my jeep. Has anyone had any experience with this lift and can you tell me if I am going to have to do anything to the transfer case or get a slip yolk eliminator. Im not planning on doing any major offroading just want to add some lift to my jeep for looks and the beach. Thanks, Chris

my suggestion is to search the forums. There are plenty of threads about RE lifts and tips/suggestions for installs.

never had that lift kit, but i'm running a 4.5 lift and 33's on mine. No slip yoke no transfer case drop, no vibes at anyspeed. does this kit come with new shocks? Should be okay with just the kit and some new rims and tires. I think you can run a 31 or 31 but anything over 9" wide its a good idea to get new rims with better backspacing.

I run the RE 3.5 Super Ride and it's a great kit. A couple of pointers and things you need beyond the kit. You will want .75" coil spacers to level the front out. You will more then likely need either a transfer case drop short term and long term an SYE. Only reason i mention the t-case drop is it will work but I suggest an SYE for sure. This is due to the fact you have a newer XJ older ones like mine and the previous poster general can get away without needing one. Also you will likely need either 2* or 4* (*=degree) shims to adjust the rear pinion angle. I used 2* and have no issues but I have a 91. Also make sure you use some PB Blaster on every single nut and bolt that will be removed.

i like my RE kit but if your not doing any kind of wheeling and its just for looks, go with something else. the RE kit is a bit pricey. try rusty's or rough country, still decent quality just a lower price. every jeep reacts differently to lift, you might lift it 2" and get vibes or lift it 3.5" and be fine, its easier to determine that once you do the lift.

exactly there is no saying with out doing it and then you will find out i have roughly 4.5 inches on the back of mine and no vibes but i have a Dana 44 that has a longer snout and i have about 6 degrees of shim in the back so maybe you don't maybe you will. it all depends on the jeep in question

hey guys thanks I think Im going to order the RE 3.5 super ride this week and for the SYE ive been reading up on it and it doesnt look like im going to need it with this lift, im not gonna be doing any off roading anyways. Thanks wish me luck with the instalation!!

one more question with the RE 3.5 Super ride will i have to get new shocks. I just put all new Rancho RS5000 on my jeep last summer will those work with the lift?

Nope to short you will need new shocks that are long enough. My suggestion is RE monotubes, OME, Bilsteins. The RE Twin Tubes IMHO ride to rough.

I am going to do some offroading but it still my primary vehicle that i drive to work and school so i dont want to spend too much. Can you give me a cost estimate for the RE 3.5 super ride with every thing else i am going to need to buy. excluding tires

ive heard good things about it, but i personally have never ordered anything off of it (ive been looking though). I used to have the super ride. great kit, handles nice on the road, does pretty well offroad. I ran 31" tires on 16" rims (from a wrangler rubicon). Light offroading/trail riding you would be fine with that. I ended up trimming my fenders for max flex. for shocks i ran stock grand cherokee shocks (no bar pins and no pin at top and 1 inch longer or so)...and used bar pin eliminators that i bought and a set i made.
