Walker / DynoMax tail pipe (P/N 44171) ?
I've been looking for a nice replacement for my rusted out tail pipe and I came across this Walker DynoMax p/n 44171:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-44171/?rtype=10.
It's a 2 1/2" pipe which is what I want, and looks like a really good value for about $38 on RockAuto. Just wondering if any of you are running this tail pipe and if you could comment on how it looks and fits. Also, if anyone has a photo of it on their Jeep I would love to see it. It exits straight out rather than a turndown style like the stock tailpipe, but for some reason doesn't have a nice tip on it like the other (2 1/4") Dynomax tailpipe does, so hopefully it's decent looking...
Speaking of which, anyone know why DynoMax makes a 2 1/4" tailpipe for '93+ Cherokees and a 2 1/2" for the '87-'92 models anyway?
I was also looking at the Rusty's tailpipes which are a turndown style like stock, just bigger pipe, but those are quite a bit more than this one. I think IRO sells one that looks similar as well. Thoughts?

Wow so the stock exhaust really only 2"? Is that all the way through or just the tail pipe? I figured it would be 2 1/4" but I haven't measured it. Since the aftermarket tailpipes are 2 1/2" I figured they were just one size larger than stock. I was just going to use an adapter to mate the larger tailpipe to the existing muffler, but if it's two sizes bigger that's kind of impractical.
I am planning on replacing the muffler and the cat too, I was just going to do the tailpipe for now, but maybe I it would be easier do everything all at once, if I'm going from 2" to 2 1/2". I just need to figure out what kind of muffler would sound good that isn't too expensive, and whether to get a stock replacement cat or have a larger diameter high-flow cat adapted somehow.
