voltage regulator

Were is the voltage regulator located on a 2000 cherokee is it a setup in the ecm.

Yes, its inside the ECU and isn't servicable. You must replace the ECU or install an external regulator, but the CEL will be on.

How hard is it to add one and do I just get one for like a 99

Detail your symptoms for the most accurate replies.

I'm not a big fan of external voltage regulators as it leaves the check engine light on.

Better to get a new computer IF everything else has been ruled out. But be sure!
