Default Voltage Guage Issue

My check gauges light randomly comes on and my voltage guage drops to 9 or below (pegged). At first I thought it was an alternator problem but alternator is putting out 14v. My old battery had a crack at the negative terminal so I swapped in one out of a different car thinking maybe that was the culpret. Problem solved. Almost. It happened again today coming home from work. If I throw the jeep in neutral and shut it off everythings normal on restart but it eventually happens again. Theres not really any pattern to it, not bumps, water, etc. I dont have any other electrical issues so Im kinda stumped on this one. Thanks

Trust me. It's your alternator. Search for my recent thread regarding "DTC P1682 Charge Voltage Too Low - NOT!" in this section. You'll find all you need to know in there.

Its not throwing codes but if I dont figure it out Ill have the alt tested. Im pretty sure its not the alt since the bearings are quiet and the voltage is good but you never know...

Eyeballed belt tension and decided to tighten it a little, will see if it helps.
