volt meter gone wild

Default volt meter gone wild

2000 4.0 L volt meter pinned to the max, then drops down to normal. Any ideas?

Hi & welcome to CF. I would put a volt meter on there and check it not running then running and see if its the gauge or the voltage is really that hi...Tj

I just experienced the same issue mine turned out to be a bad ground connection to the battery once I replace the terminal all was well. I also figured I would do the positive at the same time just for good measure.
