Default Vibration Problem

I bought my 01 XJ all stock a little over a month ago and for the past 2 weeks it's been giving me a moderate to sever vibration every time my speed is in between 52-58mph. It only happens in that zone, I think it might be an alignment problem but if anyone knows what it is or could be I would appreciate the insight, thanks.

i had the same problem but between 35-40 and it was the u joints on my rear driveshaft, i would crawl under your jeep grad the driveshaft and try to move it, if it does move then replace your u joints.
it worked for me hope this helps

I checked that and my drive shaft doesn't move so its not the u-joints and I checked my wheel weights to make sure they were all there because a friend told me about a similar problem due to losing some of them offroad. So I'm pretty sure its just an alignment problem because I'm noticing a slight tilt in my steering wheel while driving straight.

I got the same problem. I thought it was in the suspension, but now I'm not so sure. It didn't start happening until I put a 2" BB on. Just like you, it's from 53-58mph. I've had an alignment and tires rebalanced lately. Even new track bar and bushings.
At this rate, I'll have a new Jeep by next year. I'm climbing under it tomorrow hopefully to poke around.

I'll keep you updated if I find anything. Let me know what you come up with.

Yeah, how true. I've read most of them and now I'm working through each possible cause 1 by 1 like so many people have suggested. My buddy thinks my driveshaft is the culprit, so now I'm researching that.

Scoot, I know it's just a band-aid, but throwing a new steering stabilizer on could keep you XJ on the road until the problem is found. Just don't rely on that to be your fix.

My 99' had the same porblems same speed. So it was kinda in need of new tires so I started there. This did fix the major vibration and shuttering.Found all the torque specs for front suspension and steering componets and put a new stablizer and ball joints in too. Everything is good now.

You also have to remember that just cause a drive shaft doesnt move, you can still have a bad u-joint. Also I have seen bad tranny mounts on the crossmember be bad and cause vibrations.
