Default Vibration/clunk under driver's seat

The other day, I did a little muddin, and afterwards I noticed a vibration and/or a clunk right under my feet, just while taking off. Doesn't drive any differently, just some new noises. When I got home I checked underneath, and everything visible was as it should be. Only thing I've gotten told it could be so far was buildup on the front driveshaft, causing the vibe, and there doesn't appear to be any. Any other ideas as to what it could be.

First, check out Radi's TSB. 2nd, grease the front drive shaft slip joint. 3rd, jack the left front wheel off the ground, and with the TC in 2WD, check the front drive shaft u-joints for slop.

let it cool down, and then get under there and shake the exhaust around a bit. the exhaust on all 3 of my cherokees at some point has gotten loose and start clunking against the transmission crossmember

I'd grease up that slip yoke. My '95 isnt "user greasable" but it leaks fluid from the T. Case to lube it. mine clunked bad taking off from a stop or when braking hard and coming to a stop. My T.Case was BONE DRY!!! filled her up and that horrible noise i was VERY worried about was GONE immediately. your 98 should have the boot you can peel back and smash some axle grease into the DS splines.

I knew they had a Zerk on the front, but not for the rear driveshaft, which is the one I was referring to. But I DEFINITELY could be wrong, i learn new stuff everyday! or try to

Wow, I hadn't checked this in a while haha. Thanks to all for all the feedback, I'll look at it more tomorrow afternoon and try greasing the slip joint and u-joint and look at the T-case linkage.

And thanks CCken

Sorry, I was referring to the zerk fitting on the front drive shaft. on the '98, the rear drive shaft needs to be removed inorder to grease the splines - no zerk back there.
