my jeep hit 260 today and popped. steam went to rolling and lost all the water in my 91 cherokee 4.0 HO. it popped on the battery side by the rear of the valve cover. my heater valve was leaking could this be my problem.. im totally lost

You overheated it obviously, I'm not sure on the specific problem that could be but check your oil for milkyness... if it is than that's a bad sign!

 

if its that then the head or intake it fried... it just blew out the heater controll valve...

 

That would be a cracked head/ head gasket, getting that hot is what could cause it even if it expelled the pressure elsewhere

 

dang.. as soon as i put my winch on it does this crap. so now im gonna have to go mad mechanic and tear the head apart

 

Maybe.. I would check the oil and if it looks good than will it back up with coolent drive it a bit and then check coolent and oil again
