Actually you really shouldnt hit those things it can lead to damaged rockers, retainers, etc.... You can pull the coil wire, and fuel pump relay and have some turn the engine over and watch make sure the valves are all moving the same. besides the springs will keep the the valves closed if the others moved I would be concerned about that.

I took in a head core for a chevy once. The guy checking it had all the valve keepers off in about 15 seconds with a hammer! (he looked like he had done a few).
Yea, X2, ^ pull the coil wire and turn it over a little, is it really stuck? I've seen the intake gum up on other engines.

If a valve is stuck open, you'll see the rocker's loose and sloppy.
Stuck closed you'll see the pushrod bent and came off.
No hammer needed.
Why do you think you had a stuck valve - noise?

It's a ticking in the top end of the motor it sounds like and when I'm driving it's ticking but if I accelerate and let off it stops as rpms drop I drive a manual so if I shift while rpms are dropping it stops
