Default valve cover paint and swap?

Ok so I got a '94 (I think) Cherokee valve cover for free and want to clean it then paint it then put it on my 99.

Now, you may be thinking, "why wouldn't you just take off yours, paint it, then put it back on?!" And my answer would be that I like the look of the older one better and I don't want to take my current one off then have it out of service for a few day. Now, my questions are as follows:
The older valve cover has the vent holes in different spots than my current one

Will that be a problem?
2nd question: what are these things called?

Ccv elbow vents? I need to buy new ones so... Is the one in the front different from the one in the back?
Last question: on my current cover there are little bolts sticking out to hold a little medal piece that keeps throttle cables and the little hose in place. The older one does not have either of these. What sould I do to hold them in place?

Also, the bolt pattern appears to be the same. It is from the 4.0 I6

No, they are just for breathing aspects. Doesn't matter really of the location that I'm aware of.

Should be the same size. They just pull right out. Give em a tug and u will see.

Screw in new ones. I would just use some small self taping ones. I would maybe put a lil bit of silicone to prevent any leaking.

So long as both valve cover are the same height and they both bolt up the same you shouldn't have any issues with the swap. Be sure to get a new valve gasket and some silicone to seal it up good.

Thanks! And about the elbow vents, when you try to take them off the plastic is so brittle that it just breaks. When I took the old one off I had to ply the plastic from the sides and hammer it out the hole lol. Plus I just want new clean ones anyways lol its like $25 for the gaskets and the vents themselves so not that much.
