So, I'm in the process of adding everything to my new 4.0 reman motor. I spent alot of time cleaning the valve cover and degreasing it. And believe me, it was A LOT! I got it clean but then realized that it is pitted in several spots. My plan was to powder coat it. But after talking to the powder coater, the pitting will show up even after powder coat. So, I'm at a crossroads now. I am leaning towards getting another Renix valve cover and cleaning it, powder coating and installing it. But I'm curious if any of you guys have a creative solution besides what I'm thinking.

How bad are the pits? Will the powder coat be an epoxy mix? There are many kinds of powder paints. Does your paint shop have recommendations for engine components and the conditions under the hood?
There are some really sweet two colour epoxies that I've seen and absolutely wild for resisting scratch damage. What do you have in mind? If the pits arent too bad I say coat it anyway. It's a Sunday wheeler rather than a mall show n shiner. Absolutely perfect is nice, but you have invested your time and effort already. Shoot it and pic the results. I'd like to see.

Bad. Bad enough not to be able to sand blast out. The only real solution I have is to fill them with JB weld or something like that or compromise my color choice and go with a textured finished. I am dead set on metallic silver for the vc. Believe it or not, the engine is really clean and I hope to keep it that way. I'll post a pic. I really do want it to match the rest of the motor quality wise. This Jeep I don't take out and four wheel anymore. I know, I'm being picky but I don't want to regret anything down the line.
