Default Vacuum leaks among other issues

Has anyone ever heard of the crankcase tube going from the intake manifold to the valve cover tripping a code for the evap system ? Previous owner wrapped it in electrical tape but it's still audible over the power steering pulley that's definitely on its last leg. Fix one thing and two more issues pop up. Worst than owning a boat but I'm in to deep to give up on it

Are you referring to the elbow at the rear of the VC? There should be a metered orifice inside to control (limit) the vacuum. It draws engine fumes into the intake to burn them. The one in front is connected to the air cleaner to draw in filtered air.

What's the code?

This is the elbow.

The one in front is similar but without the small orifice.
