Default vacuum leak

i didn't see this covered any where in here so i was wondering how to go about tracking down a vacuum leak

Well, the not so safe way goes as follow. With the engine cold, start it up. Spray some carb clean around vacuum related areas (throttle body, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, etc.) and when the idle raises, you've found the leak. It's important that the engine is cold because otherwise you risk setting the carb clean on fire from the hot exhaust manifold. It's a good idea to keep a fire extinguisher around if you do this.

I did it the long tedious way of pulling each rubber connector out starting at the manifold and going back to figure out exactly which line was broken. For starters pull the rubber plug on the manifold and blow it out with an air compressor. It will make your vacuum MUCH stronger and you should be able to hear the leaks now. Just another suggestion. Also for replacement use the plastic hose they use to connect ice makers to a water source. At ace I bought that stuff for 19 cents a foot and bought like 12 feet and replaced most of my lines. Just so you know.
