So when I have been parking my Cherokee lately I have noticed after a few minutes a puddle of gear oil forms on the ground right beside the inner side of passenger front tire.Went on a run 3 hrs away and noticed my inner tire was splattered with gear oil.

I am guessing that the issue is the inner axle seal,the one by the carrier.

Are there any other seals it could be?

Anyone know of the part numbers for the seals? I've searched around the websites of local stores but I'm not sure I'm looking at the correct seals.

 

i wanna know the answer to this too, mine just started doing this after i took a trip to muddy gras......ugh

 

I would just ask my Napa about the seal. I'd make sure the juice is up in the meantime, spendy hassle if you let that get dry. Guess you will need a decent breaker-bar and a 1/2 in. drive, 12 point 13mm socket for the hub bolts. You can free the hub with a 3/8 extention stuck in the bolt hole, and the power steering.

If someone just changed your front axle U-joint, maybe they could help. (easy to muck up up the seal changing that)
