what year is it? On my 2000 there was just a little vacuum line that unplugged then you took two screws out of the canister.

Mine wasnt attached to the bumper...or maybe it was. It was really easy, tho. Just gave the lines a tug and they popped off.

You can pretty much mount it anywhere you like as long as you have enough hose. (Which you can add what you need).
Also you need to make sure it doesn't interfere with anything else.

I put mine close to the firewall on the passenger side. There was olenty of slack in the original lines for me to just move it. I had the battery out already, so that made it a tad easier.

As long as you have the space for it. I have seen them mounted by the battery, On the firewall. Even on the lower radiator core support.

You will be fine with it there. Just keep an eye on it since you are using zip ties to hold it in place. You don't want to be driving along and have it fall off. As long as you are using some good ties and not some crappy ones you'll be fine.

OK, this is totally off topic here, but I just had a huge light bulb turn on above my head while reading this thread.

I removed my bumper while doing my engine swap, my new engine wont idle worth a crap when its warm. Sort of feels like a vacuum leak. I did not re-install this vacuum canister, would that be causing this? What does that vacuum canister do?
