vaccume canister
hey guys so on my 91 xj 4.0 auto the vaccume canister that is mounted on the front bumper has a big @$$ hole in it, i know this isn't good, where do i get a new one? thx guys

oh i got it inside, still waiting for the engine lol, finishing rebuilding it this week and have her running my monday!! but trying to tie up loose ends, me and the ol lady are gonna hit the jy friday

I don't even have a vacuum reservoir. PO cut it completely out and sealed up the tubes after it got a hole in it.
Edit: Works fine, vent just fades whenever I ask for a little power.

It stores engine vacuum. Allows things like A/C vents to be closed when engine is not running.
I moved mine from inside the bumper to just in front of the harmonic balancer.
I have the bumper ends removed, so I always saw the canister and it felt like my fly was open...lol

Nice plate of stainless steel and some stainless hardware. Used the original hose ends/connectors and a longer piece of hose to reach the new location.
Out of sight...out of mind.
