Default v8?

hey guys i am just a little curious about what v-8's you can put in an xj? my 4.0 is about to go and i have a 5 inch lift and 33's so i would likke to put a v8 in it. could i not just put a 4.7 liter out of a grand cherokee in it? or is this a lot harder than it seems? any help is much appreciated

Just an FYI.. If this is a daily driver and you have state inspections you may want to verify you'll be able to pass inspection.

My state wouldn't allow a V8 conversion unless it was an option directly from jeep for the model year of the vehicle.

It is 5.2L and you will need the tranny behind it too. You will need to upgrade your radiator and vent the hood heavily.

4.7 would have been out of a WJ.

And you'd still need a different Tranny..

okay thanks guys. probably a little more work than i am able to do. just 18 years old ha. but i also have another question. once i get over 45 and i come up to a hill or anything and give it a little gas it starts shaking. it seemed like injectors or something but i have already checked those and they are fine. a mechanic told one of my friends that it was my transmission and i was going to have to have it rebuilt or just a new one. any ideas of what this could be?
