Using stock XJ Leafs as donor pack
What type of lift should I expect to see by using the main leaf of an XJ leaf pack as a donor for an AAL into my existing stock XJ leafs (good condition)? I am looking for ~2.5-3" in the rear and am planning on using the XJ leaf and a Comanchee shackle. Anyone have any experience with this set up?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would expect an inch if any. They reason bastard packs work is because the s-10/blazer/dakota springs have more curve to them than stock XJ's so it means lift for us.

I used a stock pack as an ALL with out shackles and got all but 2in it all depends on the condition of the leafs that you are using so if you use a good set and the comanchee shackle you should be close to 3in

Thanks for the replies...
I understand the concept of increased curve leading to lift (S-10, blazer, etc) but was hoping the increased load capacity would add what I need from the stockers. I'm trying to use as much free stuff as possible!

An add a leaf kit will help you with both issues. It may not last forever but since the leaf is generally thicker and stronger you can take out 1" to 2" of sag from the stock suspension.

If you add an extra cut down main leaf, and a cut down 2nd leaf from your pack it will help with your said issues. I ran mine with a 1.5" shackle and 1.5" lift block(dont flame!) and got 4" of lift. the ride was nice, the load carrying was amazing and it flexed well too!. It didnt squat down as much when i towed or had a big load. ran it like this for a long time actually. until i broke down and got big boy leaf springs. But i was in high school and it worked awesome. ran if for 10,000 with no ill effects
cut the eyes off the main leaf
it all mocked up
made new leaf spring clamps
here is a comparison. see where the tires sit
see how much higher they are
