using 88 transfer case in a newer year xj
I just replaced the rod bearings in my 88 xj trail truck. i plastiguaged the new bearings from .003 up to .006...not good. I still have some rattles at startup. Poor maint from previous owner. It has also been wrecked and flexes alot. I dont want to put money in this jeep to rebuild since it had been wrecked. It will be cheaper for me to get a newer xj and swap all my running gear. I just did the SYE in my T-case 231, I want to go as newe as i can.
How new can i go up to to be able to reuse my tcase. Even if i have to swap 21 - 23 spline or vise versa.
Will my t case bolt up to say a 97 xj with auto?
Thanks
