Use foam when upholstering?

Use foam when upholstering?

Do i need to use a foam under the fabric when im recovering my sunvisors?

I don't think its necessary
but it would help it adhere to the visor better

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter

If you use the same material as the headliner it should have the foam backing on it already.
