Unhappy Urgent Engine Question! PLEASE HELP

So yesterday I took my head off to a machine shop to get it checked for cracks and trueness, and cleaned. They said I could just leave all the rockers and valves and everything on there when I dropped it off and they would put it back on when they are done.

Then today, my mom went to pick it up because I was at school so I could put it on when I got home. But when I got home, all the rockers were just thrown in a box. I was always told that the rockers had to be put back in the same place they came from, and because I have no idea which ones go where I don't know what to do.

I guess my question is: Does it matter which rockers go where? And are the intake ones different than the exhaust ones?

Thanks again for all the help, you guys are great

You should call the shop...ask them why they didn't put the rockers back....offer to take it back so they can do it as promised... Or have them answer your question.. I wish i could help you more, but i just don't know...

Doing it is not the problem, I can put them back on myself, no problem. I just don't know if it matters which ones go where. Because at this point they have no way of knowing which ones go where either

usually I mark them and take them off before it See's the machine shop. But I wouldn't worry about it they are all the same and automatically adjust.

Alright thanks guys. So there is no difference between the intake and exhaust ones? And it doesn't really matter which ones go to which cylinder?

I was just concerned that maybe some had worn differently than others somehow and maybe that could result in some sort of valve tick or something along those lines, and I really don't want to have to deal with something like that.

There's no point in bringing it back because your still gonna have to take them all off anyway to put the push rods back in. And thats what there gonna tell you.
