Upper ball joint help I'm stranded
I tore into my jeep to replace the driver side hub and ball joints to finish destroying the cause of my death wobble as I suspected the lower ball joint was in really bad shape. Since I already had all the stuff I went ahead and replaced my hub as well.
Here is the problem.
I got everything put together and the upper ball joint threads are f*&(*&ed up so I cant tighten the upper ball joint it just spins. Not the nut but the joint itself. If I put the weight of the vehicle on it will it keep the shaft from spinning so I can get it tight?
Does anyone have any ideas I need to get this fixed asap so I can leave my house?

Yes I would try to put some weight on it to push it in the taper more and maybe use a die on it to clean up the threads. If you have an impact available it will be easier to tighten it rather then wrenching it. The ball joint won't be so apt to spin when using an impact.

Mine did the same thing, I used the ball joint press and the adaptors to put some pressure on the top ball joint which pushed it father into the taper so I could tighten it.

cool thanks for the posts. I put it all together put the wheel on and dropped it. The weight of the jeep held it enough for me to get it on tight spot to work but I got it thanks for the tips.
