Default Upgrading to an open coolling system

Hey, KD, I am planning to switch from the closed type cooling system to an open one. I have been aquiring all of the parts and should have them all by this weekend. I plan on doing this Monday, it's cool to take a day off work to work on your Jeep!! Would this be something you would want to make an addition to the tech write ups section? Let me know, thanks much!!

Sure if you feel like making a tech writeup on it go for it, CF can always use more.

Just going on record that the closed system when properly maintained is superior to the open system. It will be fine up to about 250 degrees if it has been burped and the radiator passages are patent. The only weak point is the football tank on the passenger side firewall. When replaced by an aluminum tank the closed system can out perform the open system. Many of the hotter running new vehicles use the closed system for this very reason. Hotter systems cool better with a closed system. BTW closed is a misnomer.
