Hello all,I am looking for anyone who has purchased or built a subwoofer speaker enclosure to fit in the right rear (cubby hole) oftheir xj. I would like to do this without sacrificing interior space.
Any Help would be great
Thanks

Not sure how great it works with 8" subs or bigger, but it's been done.
You just wondering if it can be done or ?

I had the xj pod in mine that they say will fit the 8". I am not going to use it anymore. It worked ok but I wanted the kicker l7 8" and it needed more room than that box could ever think of having. It just depend on what you are expecting out of your sub. I have pics if you want to see my old and new setup.

Cool
. If you could, post some pics of the install process and give a report on how you like the end result. I too am very interested in a box to hold a 10" sub in the factory cubby!

subscribed...let us know how it turns out. I have two 10s in a bandpass box, they sound great back there.
Just a warning: you probably shouldn't mount your amp under the seat, sub amps get really hot and need air around them to cool down, and they die from overheating easily.

something like this? I've since covered it in black vinyl. does the job well and still lets us fill the back end with hunting gear.

Slight threadjack here, but I'm looking to do the same thing in my XJ; I 've already put in a new headunit and upgraded the speakers in the stock locations using the factory wiring. I now want to put in an 8" sub and an amp. All I want is clean sound with realistic bass, not ghetto thump.
What type/brand of amp should I look for? All that bridged/unbridged x number of channels stuff just confuses me, since I'm only running two channels (stereo) thru four speakers, and want a controllable sub.
Thanks

I cut away the carpet and padding from under the passenger seat and mounted it there with some double sided tape.
I didn't screw it in as I don't want screws coming out the bottom. Will this happen by the way, or is there a space in there? I would much rather screw it down.
