You are 100 percent sure on this I wouldn't be so quick or so certain.
I had a random stalling problem on my 89 xj 4.0L,4x4. Threw in every sensor it could be. Never fixed the problem until my mechanic looked at it. He hooked it up to the snap on diagnostic computer. Ended up being a bad distributor shaft/sensor. 22 year old parts tend to need replacing.
~UPDATE~
Well I took it yesterday to my auto tech shop at school, i explained to my master tech what was going on, he just said to hook up the MOPIS, whitch is the Diagnoses computer, i swear it told me everything i needed to know, One of the main problems was that my engine was over heating becuase my Thermostat was closed shut, and it wouldent open, Leading to where no water would enter the cooling compartments of the engine, The hoses had no water in them. So leading to the Conclusion, idk if all the jeep models have this but, my model cherokee country has a AUTO SHUT OFF, whitch is when it tells the computer when some thing is wrong with the engine, it shuts it off by its self so that it wont ruin the engine, Thats what was happening, my engine was over heating, becuase the thermostat was closed, leading to AUTO SHUT OFF, so then after 20 min of it cooling down it would start back up, then jut shut back off due to the AUTO SHUT OFF. Also my fuel pump is bad. So yeahh there goes my problem, and hopefully thats it. Thanks for all your help guys, but stay updated to this thread cuase my hypothosis could be wrong. let me know what you think,
