After many hours of searching and countless hours looking for posts on the internet I finally WON!!
I did a google search of the problem after trying everything found posted here.
What it came down to is that the blinker relay and the rear window relay share a common wire (yellow with a red tracer) this wire leads to the #10 fuse location in the fuse box which according to my users manual is supposed to be empty. With nothing else to lose I put a 20amp fuse in that spot and wouldn't you know it......I got my blinkers and rear window defroster back!!!! Just as I was about to give up hope.
On a good note I saved myself countless dollars of having to take it to the shop to have someone else locate this issue. My thanks to the many posts here that helped to lead me to this discovery. THANKS!!
Now I should be able to get my state inspection and then continue with the many other mods I have planned for my XJ!! Happy Wheeling to everyone, Be safe and kind to one another. Because who knows the guy having problems now might not be you, but as we all know that can all change in the blink of an eye.
