Default Unsprung weight?

Would like to know your thoughts on rim size and new tires...

I am wondering if going with a taller rim size will help keep the unsprung weight down when I go to larger tires? Also kind of worried that the cost of larger rims and rubber to fit may be cost prohibitive for me...

This is going on a truck that will see moderate off roading. (My 1950 conversion project)

What do 'ya think?

Not sure about your wieght concern but the taller the rim the less sidewall you have. The more sidewall you have the more traction you will have if you ever have to ride a clay wall, rock etc. with that sidewall

like the above post states the smaller the rim, the more sidewall you can get. to address the cost issue, my xj came with stock 16" rims so i dropped down to 15's because i found that to find tires for 15's was both easier and cheaper. i sit at stock height on 15" rims with 30X9.5" tires and its still very capable off road.
