Default Unlock On Park

I just received a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee for my 16th and I have figured out how to make it honk, and turn the lights on when I lock it, but I would love to figure out how to make all of the doors unlock when I put it into park, if thats even possible. So I don't have my whole family yelling at me to let them out. Thank You So Much!

If daddy can afford a 2008 GC for you, he can afford shop fees. Take it to a shop.

You can't just use the door unlock button?

Yes, I can. But I was wondering if there was an option to make it unlock automatically when you put it in park.

I'm sorry. But if the ones riding with you can't figure out how to unlock a door they shouldn't be allowed to be near any vehicle.
BTW, $10 You got ripped off!!!

Do you have the Child Lock thingy set to lock (rear passenger doors)?

Fancy 'cars' have a feature that locks all doors when a certain speed is attained. One must push the door lock switch to 'Unlock' to, well, unlock the bloody doors.

That's how my 98 door locks work. They auto lock but you have to push the button to unlock them. It's So Much Work...

Mine locks at 15 Miles an hour. If it can't be done, it can't be done. It's nothing to argue about. Thanks for the help!

geez guys, give the kid a break.
he just asked a simple question, you don't have to be a d1ck to him.

congrats on the jeep dude, and yeah, that would bug the chit out of me too.
most cars unlock when you put back in park if they lock automatically in drive, but i'm not too familiar with the wk's.

i would go find another 08 on a lot and see if you can take it for a test drive to see if it does the same thing.

Not sure if it would be the same or close, but I have a 2002 Dodge Ram, and it auto locks at 15mph, and when I turn it off, and open the drivers door, the rest unlock. If someone else opens a door (pass front), or I open mine before turning it off, it doesn't work......RR

Op,

See if there's an Owner's Manual in the glove box. It should explain how everything works.
