Default unknown problem

So I've got some type of mechanical problem I can't put my finger on. As I drive down the road every now and then while accelerating it will start to jerk like as if I'm pumping the gas pedal. It's not the transmission so idk what it is.

I do have a slow oil leak but I keep up with it so idk if this could have somin to do with it

Throttle position sensor. Its attached to your throttle body. There are several threads on testing the voltage to see If its reading properly.

When was the last time your XJ had a tune up? Cap, rotor, plugs and wires?

Including wires? Old wires can cross talk especially if they are touching another wire or ground source.
I suggest you check the ignition timing and also get a fuel pressure gauge and confirm you have correct fuel pressure. Factory Service Manuals or other repair guides like Haynes will explaing how to test your fuel pressure.
