Default under the Hood sound

Hey guys

after switching off my 93 XJ, i get to hear tick tick sounds for a few minutes, from under the hood. any idea whats making these sounds ??

I think that's the exhaust header/manifold cooling off.

it is okay ... alot of trucks/ jeeps make noises when cooling down... y wj makescrackle n pop noises when cooling down

It is normal, for a few minutes, to hear the ticking as exhaust parts cool down.

How about a dripping sound? I need to do an engine bay cleaning since it's pretty dirty/oily and I can't tell if there is anything leaking now. Is the dripping sound normal or should I look for something in particular?
