Default Ugh, help!

So my Cherokee will start but I can't touch the break at all, it's a 5 speed manual lol so starting it with the break is kind of important. Any ideas ?

Sounds like a huge vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses ans see that none have come loose.
Fill in the info so people who are trying to help know a little more about your Jeep.

Sorry about that lol I wrote it in a hurry !
I drive a 1987 Cherokee, straight 6 motor, and it's quite a project.
I got it with 247,000+ miles on it (free) and have plans to rebuild it from ground up. Basically, I first noticed the break lights, blinkers or hazard lights didn't work. ( I was driving it around like that, no problem car started up everytime. Recently I was getting up to go to Elbe hills and my jeep wouldent start >:| , my fiancé herd my "broken jeep vocabulary" came outside and just turned the key, no break, no clutch, not in gear (thankfully) and she fired right up.

My dad thinks its a breakswitch fuse that may have gone bad,
And my fuse box is pretty bad, like 4/10 on the "good scale" a lot of burnt areas(could that be it?)
Also the guy before my kinda Jerry rigged some wires down there. I know none of this is good, and it all has to be taken care of (it will I'm just trying to see if anyone can narrow it down, or had the same problem)

Thanks again,
Cody

Unfortunately, the solution is to un-jury-rig the POs work. That will require that you figure out why each circuit was rigged and address the problem rather than skirting it. Poking a stick at individual problems that have already been poked will only create more problems based on your description of the electrical system condition.

I would start with the fuse panel. Replacements are available.

Sometimes when the clutch master cyl goes on those, it ends up pissn right out of the fuse box. No kidding! With that mileage, yours might have "been there"

Not to disagree with BlueXJ, another thought is maybe your brake light switch is sapping, (grounding?) whatever little power is trying to make it run. Idk, just a thought. Course that SHOULD blow the fuse,,,if it had one that worked...

This is for an 89, probably more or less the same. Don't make my mistake and try to follow the 2.5 stuff!

If you click on my signature you will find some info on cleaning your 1-101 connector, something you might consider.

What i found was odd, I would start the jeep and while it was starting if I even touched the breaks it would kill the starter. So before it would fire up if the breaks were tapped the car would not continue to turn over. I'm planning to start a build thread soon to show the progress thus far. And as far as the miles go the mileage is stuck at 249k and my rpm meter doesn't work and my gas gauge is backwards. It said full, I filled her up til the gas wouldent pump and it slammed to E, with the gas light on. I'm thinking my jeep has become my worst fear. Electrical problems :/

I Apreciate all the responses, I will start Tomorow with the fuse box & break switch. We shall see !
