uca's & lca's

Default uca's & lca's

Im trying to figure out my uca length, the factory uca's are 15" and factory lca's are 15 3/4s. My new lca's are 16 3/8s so if I go with the factory differance between uca's and lca's (3/4") then my uca's SHOULD be 15 5/8"s right? I am trying to retain factory caster and pinion angle and cant beat a fixed uca in any length for $65. These are what Im looking at http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Jeep_XJ.../XJ_FFUCA.html

Ya I already found that chart but the measurements scare me I've spent days looking for a logical answer. The decimal conversions are off and they're saying a 2-3" lift should have SHORTER uca's....Thanks tho

Here is what I would do.

Take both wheels off, set the front axle on jack stands, With your new lowers installed unbolt the axle side bolts from the upper control arms, take an angle finder and set the pinion angle how you want it, measure it, then reinstall and go order what you need. 15.25" should be suffice tho. I have adjustable upper and lowers and that is always how i set mine (in the process of doing it now). With adjustable's it also gives you a one time control arm option unless you go long arms. I am going to a 6-7" lift and using the same control arms as I did when i was at 5" of lift. I am also stretching the axle forward about 2" as well.


If you can afford them get adjustable upper and lowers

Ok thanks I'll do that I was just hoping for a quick easy answer
I am suffering from DW and stiff turning and everything is tight and good but I noticed my upper/lower ball joints are damn near vertical and my front pinion is horizontal instead of pointed at the tcase. I cant afford the adjustable control arms or I would do that instead. Thanks for the tip!
