I did a search and couldn't come up with anything, so now the thread.

So i wanna by this kit for my 98 XJ. I have the Chrysler 8.25 rear and wanna know what the issue is with the "U" bolts.

The web site at the bottom of the description says its for XJ's with the DANA 35 rear. then saying it only comes with the U bolts for the 2.75" axle tube. Can I just get bigger bolts? or am i SOL.

finally, my newbness is showing, where do these bolts go? I'm assuming the axle tube, considering what it says, but how exactly are "U" bolts used.

pardon my thread misplacement if this isn't tech worthy...id wanna smack me too.

 

The u-bolts hold the axle to the springs,the reason u cannot use the u-bolts in this kit is the 8.25 is 3"dia tubes,you would have to have 3" wide u-bolt,rc should be able to help you or you can buy them at any 4wheel shop.

 

As far as I know, all you'd Need to use the kit is bigger u bolts
