Default TV cable(kickdown) adjustment? which way is correct?

so I am fully aware of how to do this, but I was talking to a buddy of mine and he says to adjust it buy pushing the button, sliding the cable slide towards the button then go into the cab, and press the gas pedal to WOT.

I have always done the exact same steps, except I always used my hand to manually open the throttle to WOT from the throttle body.

So what is correct?

using the gas pedal, or opening the throttle body by hand to WOT?

Been playing with 700R4's and turbo 350's my whole life...never heard the gas pedal method until today! lol

I could see how the pedal method might be SLIGHTLY more accurate but only if you have more throw in throttle body then you have in your pedal. But i dont see it making a difference

I just set mine with almost no play. Maybe the thickness if a dime to the nub.
