Question turn signals stopped working, hazards still work

I have a 98 Cherokee and the other day the turn signals just stopped working. I checked on-line to see what I could find and it prompted me to check my hazards as well. They did not work so from what I could tell it was my flasher that needed replacement. So I replaced it, hazards started working but my turn signals still don't work. Out of curiosity I removed the new flasher and put my old one back in. Hazards now work with the old one but turn signals still do not. Is there something else I can try to correct it? Is the connection loose or something or do I have a bigger problem? I was hoping to avoid the mechanic.

Thanks.

Looks like the issue is not the flasher. When the hazard lamps were on did you check all the bulbs, make sure none were dim or burned out? Try moving the turn signal lever & hazard lamp switch see if the turn signals start working again. If so that means a bad combination switch in the column.

Thank you. I had time to go mess around with the hazards in combination with the turn signals and so far my turn signals are now working on their own again. If it happens again at least I know to start looking at the combination switch. Thanks.

I have the same problem, 1993.5 xj, replaced BOTH relays (flashers) AND last night took apart the column and replaced the switch...no luck! Hazards work fine all bulbs work, Any help or advice? Grounds? Harness connection? Thanks!

EDIT: turned out it was the ignition switch under the dash on the column, it was burnt and was NOT letting 12v to the flasher = no turn signals
