Default turn signals shorting out and sqeaking brake question??

recently (in march) purchased a 2000 cherokee sport and love it!

It came with a few 'conditions' and wondering if anyone has insight into what to do..

1- My right and left turn signal as well as hazard lights seem to 'short out' .. they will blink for about 20 seconds and then stay on solid .. no more blinking occurs.. would this be the fuse? or a short in the wires..?

2 - replaced the brakes as I'm up/down a ski hill every day and they get a little more wear/tare then normal one.. my first brake change right after getting the vehicle was great until when driving in the city they started to squieak when light pressure was applied.. this was rain or shine. I had them redone .. started again.. had them redone again with different pads.. still does it to this day ..

The big question that I have is now upon start up when I leave my road side parking and turn around to get out of my road, the forward motion brings out a huge 'squeeling' noise for about 5-10 seconds until the vehicle is moving more quickly.. what would be cause this? it happens when it's been stagnent for a while and doesn't matter on weather..

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Welcome! the signal problem is probably your flasher unit. Not sure exactly where..its under there. It's the thing that's ticking while the signal is flashing. Also with your finger on it you can feel it tick. Just unplug it and stick in a new one.
Don't know about your squeal. Rhythmic might be a U-joint. Maybe someone else can help there. Good luck, D.

Yer' welcome. People have posted U-tube links with video/audio of various knocking and screeching. Yours doesn't sound too thrilling but's probably better than starring at a TV! ( I only get two channels).

I would check your belt for the squeal. Slipping on start maybe.

Agreed on the belt, good idea. Didn't know the flasher was so buried, well done! BTW, used to ski near Donner Pass at Sugar Bowl.
