My turn signals are showing signs of intermittent weirdness.... sometimes each side operates fine. But most often, either left or right (not both, just one side or the other) flashes rapidly as though a lamp were blown, while the other side functions fine. Then the next time the signals are used, maybe both sides function properly again. And also, when this happens the respective dashboard signal light may flash rapidly, or not light up at all.
I just tried a couple of other flasher relays today, but the symptoms still persist. I'm thinking my next step is to replace the turn signal switch stalk at the steering column, but I'd appreciate any other thoughts or advice.
Thanks,
Ron

sounds like poor connection would not suspect the switch as it seems to be working. check bulb sockets and check large gang connector on driver side near airbox. been quite a few of these complaints recently. also if you have a trailer harness inspect the wires for that as those have a tendency to chafe and wear out/short

another user previously found that his ground wires along the fender were the woes of his problem. cleaned the connectors and the body up and it seemed to take care of it.

I appreciate all the pointers, I have not checked for grounding issues just yet but do suspect the turn signal switch. I noticed yesterday that when the malfunction occurs, jiggling the **** affects the symptoms. I hope that's all it is !
Thanks again,
Ron

Not a ground fault in this case... the wire harness connector just wasn't seated quite right into the back of the turn signal switch. I had disconnected it a few days prior while removing the dash bezel to replace my radio. For some reason, once I plugged it back in and reattached the plastic retainer that snaps on over the harness connector, the signals would act up. I removed the retainer and now the signals have been functioning just fine for several days now. The connector should still stay seated though, it still has that one attaching screw.

Haha, and (for now anyway) I was spared the time and trouble to chase out a grounding problem ! I was really dreading that being the case....
