Not trying to sound like a complete moron..but do 4.0l distributors have gaskets?

Yes, between the distributor mount flange and the engine block. Felpro product.

 

Should have an O-ring. When I replaced my distributor the O-ring included with the new one was way too fat for my liking. There was no way it was going to seat securely and I knew the hold down bolt was going to keep walking out and coming loose so I replaced it with a thinner ring of the same diameter.


I am curious if you are still having oil pressure issues?

 

I would have liked a gasket rather than the O-ring that came with my new distributor But I was too far from a parts store and was stuck improvising.

 

Never heard of an o-ring being used. Gasket only.
