tuned up and new o2= 12mpg

actually i tuned it up and replaced the o2 and went from 13 mpg to 12. BUT that was the coldest week ever -2 for hi temps and stuff, so lots of warm up time, and it uses more gas at those temps. so i'll find out realistic mpg in the city soon.but i got 19.8 mpg on the hiway a couple days ago staying around 58-61 mph, whats everyone gettin on the hi way?
If I got the speed limit (65mph) on the highway, I can get about 20mpg. Going 80mph on the highway gets me about 15-17mpg. Driving the speed limit really does save you money!
Edit: BTW, this is in Southern California where weather doesn't go to the extremes.

big time. its all about the gearing, when the gears trans and axles are meshed right and rpm's are just right it hardly takes any throttle to keep going, thats where you'll get the best mpg, mine is right at 60 and 1900 rpm. and ya, 80mph sucks gas.

70 will get me 19 mpg. 80 will get me 17 mpg. City driving 14-15. If I'm driving around on snowy roads in 4HI about 12 mpg.
I dunno, when I bought my first Cherokee I did some research and I read somewhere that XJ's get better mileage than a lot of other SUV's in their class (Explorer, 4Runner, Pathfinder, Blazer, etc)
I had a 2000 Pathfinder w/ 70k and got around 14 mpg's in the city.
