Default Tube behind dipstick

Can someone please tell me what the hose or tube behind the dipstick near the firewall is, I'm hearing a vacuum leak when my Cherokee 4.0 warms up?

O.K. it's a capped tube about 1/2" in diam. I wouldn't think I'd get a vacuum leak sound there though. Thanks
