You got it.

The difference in the mains is the locating tang. On one block it's in the center and on the other it's offset.

I have the 1990 block as I described at the beginning with a #3003453 crankshaft. Which is what it supposed to have, the crank is trash so I pulled a motor from a 93 sport that had the 53008405 casting on the block identicle to my 90. As I researched it on the web the 53008405 casting is reserved for the 91-9* whatever and should have a crankshaft #53010411. I pulled the pan on the 93 and low and behold it has a #3003453 crankshaft which should not be there acccording to Rockauto/Oreillys/Autozone books. I am the second owner and I know its the original motor for this vehicle. So that got me looking at the block casting numbers because I was confused at this point. So I have a 90 block that should be a 91+ and a 93 block with 88-90 crankshaft parts.
Could I be safe to assume the crankshaft in the 93 work in the 90 block since they are both #3003453 cranks?
Does Chrysler always break the rules on casting numbers???
Definitely an old feed, but I'm pretty sure I have the answer. You know how when they come out with a new car say the 2022 model they are producing that model in the year before so some parts like an engine block will still be dated for then but they were already producing it do you know what I mean cuz they were already done running the previous year

Default Confused about the year of my engine...

InjectorsSome of those specs that are hard to find in any workshop manual.

The following is a list of the injectors used on the 4.0L since 1987 along with their rated static flow:

Model Year, ...Part #, ...........Colour, .....Fuel Pressure, ...Static Flow,
'87-'90, ........53003956, .........Dark Tan,.......39psi, .................21.0lb/hr
'91-'93, ........33007127, .........Brown, ..........39psi, .................21.0lb/hr
'94-'95, ........53030343, .........Tan, ..............39psi, .................21.0lb/hr
'96-'98, ........53030778, .........Grey, ............49psi, .................23.2lb/hr
'99-'04, ........04854181, .........Blue tip, ........49psi, .................22.5lb/hr
'05-'06, ........53013690AA, ....Brown tip, .....58psi, .................25.4lb/hr
I bought a 1995 XJ with a rebuilt engine less than 5000 miles ago. It was over heating and they didn't know why. Turned out to be a head gasket. So turns out I need to get the head and block shaved. And this is where I started researching the engine. Last night I pulled the engine and transmission and this morning I went out and took pictures of all the numbers I could find to do my research. Everything was matching up fine until I got to the Engine Block Casting Number...it should have been, 53030343, but it's actually 35008405. I can't find anything out about this block.

You realize you are looking at fuel injector part numbers and not block numbers.
Best I can tell the number on your block is correct.

So I have a 92 jeep Cherokee motor and I was wanting to put it in my 98 jeep wrangler but it won’t mount to the transmission is there an adapter I could get to use to adapt from that motor to that transmission

All 4cylinders had one bolt pattern and all six cylinders had another bolt pattern.

Are you trying to put a 4 cylinder where a six cylinder was or vice-versa?
