Iv'e got it all back together with still no start. I will move the distributor back to #6 at tdc and see what happens. I don't see how this is possible, but I'm at a loss here.

Well, with the help of my friend freegdr I'm back in action. I reset the distributor and she came alive. It ended up being a stretched timing chain that jumped a couple teeth. If anyone has any questions on this, I'm more than happy to help. I've got a slight stumble just off idle, but I have a feeling it has to do with all the fuel that got pumped into it the whole time Iv'e been trying to start it. Thanks again freegdr.

The best thing to do is mark the dist on number one pull the cap off turn the camshaft till the rotor is pointing at the mark you made number on the cap your timing marks for the cam should be where they are pointing at the crankshaft marks .If both dots are lined up you should be in time DO NOT pull the dist if you do then you will make an easy job hard. Then you will have to turn the cam in the dristion on reoaton and watch the valve opening when the intake valve closes turn till the maeks are to the bottom and turn the crank till it lines up thats number one piston up remember the cam turns twice for every turn of the crank .If need more info let me know

the confusion set in on timing chain replacement with timing chain marks set correctly the dist will point to no6 not number 1 the manuals do not make this clear. valve tining and ignition are two different animals .
