I have a 99 2 Door XJ, and my upper caps/molds came off my vehicle and I can't find a way to replace them. I have the cable coming out to the part I show in the attached photo. I have given up on finding the proper parts, and am just going to put two washers on the part shown, but feel it needs something in the top so an antenna can screw onto it.

What part is that? Also, is this the way to go or is there a better aftermarket replacement option of the antenna assembly?

Here is a parts diagram of the antenna. I was able to find the parts I needed with a google search.

 

Most after market antennas are more universal I would go to a pick and pull and find what you need .
