Default Where does this clip go? - For those that have taken aw4 valve body apart

Installing the transgo shift kit into valve body.

After I took the upper section this clip was just sitting on the plate gasket in this general area.

Theres no mention of it in my shift kit instructions.

Where the hell does it go?

I have time now because the stupid gasket tore and who knows how long it wil take to get that plus I want to replace the lock up relay valve assembly with the sonnax upgrade. Sucks cause I wanted to put my transmission on this weekend and have my Jeep back!

Its a "valve stop" for the upper valve body, according to the FSM for my 97. It doesnt show where it goes, or how. This pic is off a Toyota forum, but its the same basic pic as my FSM. The part in question is at the bottom of the pic, next to the throttle valve.

Just found this. Its the best i can do for you without an AW4 service manual, which i do not own.

This is why when working on a valve body you change out and reassemble each item one at a time. Learned this the hard way.

I did take apart each piece at a time, everything else is documented in my transgo instructions, just not that clip.

It fell out as a separated the halves.

thanks fb97xj1
