get the braces before you start tearing apart your frame

 

You still running stock uppers? It looked that way and your axle looked 2 inches back to far. You could 1. Adjustable uppers and lowers, make the bracket, (ride quality) and high steer (bump stop problem). Or 2. Long arms they will give better flex and ride quality. However you should still do a high steer to stop the bump stop. However be carefully if you go with long arms! Some if not most kits are a pain. Not to install but if they replace the cross member. Then look for ward to taking your front axle out for any trans or t case need to come out. Just saying.

 

Drop brackets actually flex quite well despite what most think. Here is mine pre axle swap. It scored 1020. If I had longer shocks it would have done better but I lifted a front tire, not rear like most.

 

So you guys keep telling me to get braces but I have no idea what they are or what they look like, someone enlighten me please! I will probably get a set of lower and upper adjustable arms, new shocks, and was planning on a steering fix just not sure which way to go on that

If you get a drop pitman arm your bump steering will be a lot better. The closer you can get the draglink to horizontal, the better and yours is at quite an angle now.

What purpose does the drop brackets serve for the control arms?

Where can you get those?

 

They correct the angle of your lower control arms, similar to what the drop pitman arm does for your steering. Rough Country makes some and you can get them here...

They lower the mounting point on the upper and lower control arm mounts at the chassis side to make them more horizontal with the ground. The purpose of this is to correct suspension geometry from a taller lift.

As the body is lifted from the axle the control arms angle gets steeper... which equates to a rough ride among other things.

they give the brackets support and keep you from ripping them off while backing up. they bolt behind your drop brackets and to the unibody. they also act as a slide

Thanks posjeepxj, that is what I was after. Funny thing is that is what I was thinking about building for it anyway just to stiffen things up in front!
